| Sumario: | Researchers affiliated with the Pan American Institute of Geography and History
(PAIGH) are working on a Climate Change Atlas of the Americas (ACCA). This
article details the debates and decisions of an interdisciplinary workshop with
participants from 5 countries focused on the development of the atlas. The Au-
gust 2017 PAIGH funded workshop in Colombia identified objectives, theoretical
framework, methodology, territorial reach, units of analysis, selected themes,
technical framework, and a work plan. The target audience includes a broad pub-
lic with a particular focus on young people and policy makers and the overarching
objective of creating a stronger understanding of the problems, challenges, and
opportunities associated with climate change. The article also seeks to raise
awareness of the complex steps needed to plan a project of this size. |
