A theoretical framework was elaborated with basic concepts about communication protocols by using the ISO/OSI model and the active and passive elements that take part in the transmission of a message in a HFC net. Animations were made to allow the student study those concepts in an interactive and dynamic way. An interactive section was developed for the self-evaluation of the student.
