Sumario:The Universidad Nacional del Alto Uruguay presents us with an educational reality that is crossed by geographic and symbolic borders, which must be considered when thinking about the literacy process at the university threshold. The objectives of this work are to describe the educational border scenario of the Universidad Nacional del Alto Uruguay, to discuss its didactic and curricular implications, and to analyze a series of problematic axes that emerged from writing the reading report genre. We approach academic writing as situated social practices, strongly linked to the discursive communities in which they are produced, and where specific genres take shape. Methodologically, we operate by reconstructing didactic and curricular decisions from the beginning of this course in 2022, and any subsequent changes made to the present day. Additionally, we conduct a semiotic-discursive analysis of the reading reports produced by students in 2025.
