The objectives of this work are to describe the educational border scenario of the Universidad Nacional del Alto Uruguay, to discuss its didactic and curricular implications, and to analyze a series of problematic axes that emerged from writing the reading report genre. We approach academic writing as situated social practices, strongly linked to the discursive communities in which they are produced, and where specific genres take shape. Methodologically, we operate by reconstructing didactic and curricular decisions from the beginning of this course in 2022, and any subsequent changes made to the present day. Additionally, we conduct a semiotic-discursive analysis of the reading reports produced by students in 2025. La Universidad Nacional del Alto Uruguay nos instala ante una realidad educativa atravesada por fronteras geográficas y simbólicas que se deben tener en cuenta a la hora de pensar el proceso de alfabetización en los umbrales de la universidad. Los objetivos de este trabajo son describir el escenario educativo fronterizo de la Universidad Nacional del Alto Uruguay y sus implicancias didáctico-curriculares, y analizar una serie de ejes problemáticos emergentes de la escritura del género informe de lectura. Nos posicionamos desde una mirada de la escritura académica como práctica social situada fuertemente vinculada a las comunidades discursivas en las que se producen, donde toman cuerpo géneros concretos. Metodológicamente, operamos desde la reconstrucción de decisiones didáctico-curriculares desde los inicios de una cátedra denominada Lectura y Escritura Académicas en el ciclo lectivo 2022, y eventuales cambios efectuados en el devenir temporal de la unidad curricular.
