This article is based on her working documents, as well as her CIC file housed in the CONICET repository. The analysis falls within the field of linguistic historiography, focusing on the study of scientific biographies (Kragh, 2017) as an epihistoriographical resource (Swiggers, 2009). The article is organized as follows: the first part shares the theoretical and methodological orientations, followed by a presentation of the documents found, followed by an overview of Najlis' academic work. Finally, an analysis of her main contributions to the knowledge of the indigenous languages of the region is presented. Esta contribución presenta un recorrido por la trayectoria investigativa de Elena Najlis (1939-2018) con foco en sus estudios sobre lenguas indígenas en Argentina. Se revisan tanto las descripciones de lenguas particulares (abipón, wichí, ayoreo y selk'nam), como las propuestas tipológicas, areales y genéticas que realiza. Se toman como base sus documentos de trabajo, como así también su legajo CIC albergado en el repositorio de CONICET. El análisis se inscribe en el ámbito de la historiografía lingüística, y atiende al estudio de biografías científicas (Kragh, 2017) en tanto recurso epihistoriográfico (Swiggers, 2009). En la primera parte se comparten las orientaciones teórico-metodológicas del artículo.
