Sumario:This article analyzes the redistributive incidence of public investment in education in the province of Entre Ríos, Argentina, specifically comparing the initial, primary, and secondary education levels through the application of the Benefit Incidence Analysis (BIA) methodology. Based on budgetary data and household surveys, the distribution of educational spending across different income groups is estimated, and its determinants are decomposed: the distribution of the target population, attendance rates, and preferences for public provision. The results indicate that spending at all three educational levels has a pro-poor and progressive profile, although there are differences in redistributive intensity among levels. Primary education shows the highest concentration among lower-income groups, while secondary education, due to its higher cost per student, generates the most significant redistributive impact. These findings highlight the importance of public educational policies as effective tools for reducing inequality and reinforce the need to prioritize social investment in children and adolescents.
