In the first part, I summarize the central aspects of the psychic theory and the virtuous life established by Plato in this dialogue. In the second part, I examine the presence of two guidelines, one of them negative (the critique of the current education), the other one positive (the assessment of the productive art), both suggest the way in which the producer, who belongs neither to the ruling nor to the warrior class, approaches to a virtuous life. En el presente trabajo, me propongo mostrar que República ofrece en el libro X algunas pautas para que los miembros de la clase productora conformen una estructura psíquica adecuada y se aproximen a la vida justa. En la primera parte, resumo los aspectos centrales de la teoría psíquica y de la vida virtuosa que Platón establece en la obra. En la segunda, examino la presencia de dos pautas, una negativa (la crítica de la educación vigente) y otra positiva (la valoración del arte productivo), las cuales sugieren el modo en que el productor, que no pertenece a la clase gobernante ni a la guerrera, se aproxime a la vida virtuosa.
