The analysis focuses on the scene called ‘Sunset’, which depicts the sexual violence perpetrated against a kidnapped women by a genocide, during the latest Argentinean dictatorship. This work studies the so called grey spaces of rape (Hercovich, 1997), the gender performativity (Butler, 1990) performed by the character as a strategy to mitigate oppression (Rodó-Zárate, 2021), an oppression that represents the final link in the dictatorship’s systematic plan to punish activist women, in accordance with the regime’s gender ideology. As colophon, this play is put in conversation with an issue of the play Ya vas a ver (2015) by Torres Molina, which presents a woman’s performance as a defense mechanism in the face of imminent rape. The theoretical framework is grounded in gender studies and memory studies in Latin America. Proponemos un análisis discursivo de una de las escenas de la obra teatral Esa extraña forma de pasión (estrenada en el año 2011), de Susana Torres Molina. La escena (“Sunset”) representa la violencia sexual perpetrada por dos genocidas y sufrida por una mujer secuestrada durante la última dictadura en Argentina (1976-1983). Se estudiarán en el texto dramático los grises de la violencia sexual (Hercovich, 1997), así como la performatividad de género (Butler, 1990) que el personaje de la mujer actúa con el objeto de mitigar la opresión (Rodó-Zárate, 2021) a la que es sometida como parte del plan sistemático genocida. A modo de colofón, se pondrá en diálogo esta escena con un aspecto de la obra Ya vas a ver (2015) de la misma autora: la actuación como mecanismo de defensa de la mujer frente a la violación. La metodología está dada por el análisis literario y el marco teórico se basa en los estudios de género y los estudios de la memoria en América Latina. Universidad Nacional del Nordeste.
