It emphasizes knowledge generation, the development of new researchers, and the evolution of evidence-based clinical practices. Each of these objectives is significantly influenced by the necessity of disseminating scientific findings. Therefore, it is imperative to have faculty and researchers who are continuously enhancing their methodological expertise to strengthen this area. This also involves fostering a supportive environment, providing ongoing faculty training, creating platforms for knowledge exchange, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. This article aims to analyze and synthesize the available literature regarding the faculty's role in the process of dental scientific production and dissemination. La investigación odontológica debe ser vista como una oportunidad para el crecimiento, visibilidad y reputación institucional, enfática en la generación de conocimiento, la formación de nuevos investigadores y la evolución de prácticas clínicas basadas en evidencia. Cada uno de estos objetivos mencionados anteriormente se ven influenciados por la necesidad de la divulgación científica de dichas investigaciones. Por esta razón, es imperativo contar con un personal docente e investigador en constante preparación metodológica que permitan fortalecer este ámbito, además, de crear un entorno de apoyo, capacitación docente continua, espacios de intercambio de conocimientos y colaboración interdisciplinaria. En este sentido, el objetivo de este artículo es analizar y sintetizar la literatura disponible sobre el rol del docente en el proceso de producción y divulgación científica odontológica. A pesquisa odontológica deve ser vista como uma oportunidade de crescimento, visibilidade e reputação institucional, com ênfase na geração de conhecimento, na formação de novos pesquisadores e na evolução das práticas clínicas baseadas em evidências. Cada um desses objetivos é influenciado pela necessidade de divulgação científica das investigações realizadas. Por isso, é fundamental contar com um corpo docente e pesquisador em constante formação metodológica, que permita fortalecer essa área, além de criar um ambiente de apoio, capacitação docente contínua, espaços de troca de conhecimento e colaboração interdisciplinar. Nesse sentido, o objetivo deste artigo é analisar e sintetizar a literatura disponível sobre o papel do docente no processo de produção e divulgação científica em odontologia.
