| Sumario: | This paper deals with the freshwater Chlorophyceae of Tierra del Fuego associated with different substrata. The substrata are reported, and the average number of associated species growing on each one is provided.The algal species are listed and illustrated, and some interesting morphological and ecological characteristics of them are pointed out.Five categories for delimiting the algae associated with a substratum are proposed, and the relative average of each one is given.An adherence index for the species is proposed, relating the algal position to the substratum. |
