Does live request wood? Towards the thermal assessment of recent Wooden Houses In Uruguay

Recently, several alternatives for repurposing these materials have emerged, including their use as raw materials in the production of particleboards for the construction industry. This study presents a theoretical analysis of the acoustic insulation properties of recycled Tetrabrik panels and their application in different enclosure construction alternatives. The calculations were based on the Mass Law to determine the Weighted Sound Reduction Index (Rw) for panels and different single and double-wall enclosures. The results indicate that Tetrabrik composite panels perform better than wood-based particleboards. Regarding Argentina’s current regulatory requirements, both single and double enclosures incorporating Tetrabrik panels in their design significantly exceed the required standards, achieving Rw values above 50 dB and 60 dB, respectively.
