The methodology used consists in a qualitative approach founded on the analysis and interpretation bibliographic-documentary sample. The results showed that, in Colombia, the magnitude of both school segregation and socio-educational inequality is exponential. Indeed, socio-educational inequality is a consequence of stratified power relations. In addition, socio-structural issues affecting not only access to education but also socio-educational quality have been traced in certain groups of the population. The research concludes that it is necessary to rethink and redefine the Colombian educational system to reduce the gap of inequity, illiteracy, segregation and socio-educational inequality. Thus, the Colombian educational field needs to be re-signified and re-oriented towards socio-democratic participation, diversity, inclusion, and institutionalization, among other conditions. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo principal analizar la segregación y la desigualdad socioeducativa en el sistema educativo colombiano en los niveles básico, medio y universitario. La metodología es de enfoque cualitativo; se apoya en el análisis bibliográfico-documental con orientación de elementos analíticos e interpretativos. Los resultados arrojaron que, en Colombia la magnitud tanto de la segregación escolar como de la desigualdad socioeducativa es exponencial. En efecto, la desigualdad socioeducativa es producto de las relaciones de poder estratificado. En anexión, en el ámbito socioeducativo colombiano se delinea una cuestión socioestructural que afecta tanto el acceso como la calidad socioeducativa en ciertos grupos poblacionales. Se concluye que es menester replantear y resignificar el sistema educativo colombiano para disminuir la brecha de inequidad, el analfabetismo, la segregación y la desigualdad socioeducativa. Por consiguiente, el campo educativo colombiano requiere ser resignificado y reorientado hacia la participación sociodemocrática, la diversidad, la inclusión y la institucionalización, entre otras circunstancias.
