| Sumario: | This work, carried out within the framework of the Regional Geography Seminar, corresponding to the curriculum of the Geography Degree at the Faculty of Humanities of the National University of the Northeast [UNNE], in the province of Chaco, analyzes the socio-environmental characteristics of the La Rubita neighborhood, located in the Metropolitan Area of Greater Resistencia, Chaco, during the year 2024. The research focuses on water vulnerability and the effects of informal urbanization, using a qualitative approach that includes observation, interviews, and satellite image analysis. Since the 1990s, the spontaneous growth of the neighborhood has led to infrastructure problems and increased exposure to flooding. The objectives are to identify vulnerable areas and households at risk through the use of the Normalized Difference Water Index [NDWI] and the Digital Elevation Model [DEM], proposing guidelines to improve and organize the territory. |
