Conocimiento establecimientos educativos etnobotánica San José Educational establishments ethnobotany knowledge San José The analysis of the archaeobotanical remains recovered in different archaeological sites of the Yocavil Valley allowed a first approach to the practices of consumption of plant organs in the past from formative to late moments (1st to 16th centuries), as well as an understanding of the use of various supply spaces. In this work, the continuity of this line of research is proposed on a broader time scale, emphasizing on the student’s environmental knowledge. Meetings were held in three educational establishments in the town of San José, Department of Santa María, Catamarca. Ethnobotanical field techniques were used, including workshops with different strategies (wisdom sharing, plants brought by students, and ethnobotanical walk). The students mentioned 38 plants with their uses as well as kind and place of provisioning. Finally, a reflection is proposed on the approach strategies, and how students approach local knowledge, when this is considered in the school curricular area (for example, creation of herbaria, planting of local species for productive purposes, foods, dyes).
