This study aims to show how the morphometry and, consequently, the morphology of the rice reservoirs in the northeast of Entre Ríos province have fluctuated. To achieve this, reservoirs with a surface area greater than 10 hectares were identified using geographic information systems. Based on the results obtained, these wetlands were classified into five categories, ranging from very small to very large. It is concluded that large and very large reservoirs remain relatively stable under extreme conditions, while medium-sized ones are the most affected, often shrinking to very small sizes. However, it is the very small reservoirs that have dried up during extreme droughts. La variabilidad climática y, sobre todo, la manifestación de eventos climáticos extremos repercute directamente en humedales someros, especialmente en aquellos cuyas aguas que dependen exclusivamente de precipitaciones locales. Este trabajo tiene por objetivo mostrar cómo han f luctuado la morfometría y, en consecuencia, la morfología de los embalses arroceros del nordeste de la provincia de Entre Ríos. Para ello, mediante sistemas de información geográfica se han identificado embalses con una superficie mayor a 10 has. Con los resultados obtenidos se han podido clasificar a estos humedales cinco categorías desde muy pequeños a muy grandes. Se concluye que los grandes y muy grandes se mantienen relativamente estables en situaciones extremas, mientras que los medianos son los más afectados, en muchos casos reduciéndose a muy pequeños. No obstante, son los muy pequeños los embalses que se han secado durante sequías extremas.
