Sumario:In the context of the popular habitat, access to housingusually occurs under various logics and actors, but with the common denominator of the lack of economic resources. Faced with this situation and an informal housing market, housing is usually precarious and with no or reduced access to basic services. The absence of planning is one of the inherent characteristics of these processes. In this framework, in the city of La Plata, housing has similar characteristics, however, a high percentage has characteristics of urban consolidation that would allow them to receive construction im provements, and, therefore, increase the quality of life of the population. The development of a methodology that allows identifying the housing status of said homes and proposing improvement guidelines in relation to minimum, medium or maximum interventions depending on the case is presented. As a result, it is observed that 22% of the neighborhood requiresminimum interventions, 75.5% medium interventionsand 2.5% maximum interventions.
