The work introduces the subjective dimensionin the urban functional analysis, using urban mobilityas a spatial and social framework of the study. The groups that act in the expansion are identified from the physical and demographic evolution of the system and from the trips of the population. The results obtained are intended to be the basis of theoretical guidelines in accordance with the evolution of the metropolitan fabric of Mendoza and that, associated with the spatial behavior of population groups, allow to contribute to guide its dynamics. El objetivo del presente artículo es mostrar la importancia de la dimensión socioambiental en las tendencias de crecimiento urbano y la relativa incidencia de las infraestructuras y los servicios de transporte como activadores de esa dinámica. El trabajo introduce la dimensión subjetiva en el análisis funcional urbano, utilizando a la movilidad urbana como encuadre espacial y social del estudio. Los grupos que actúan en la expansión se identifican desde la evolución física y demográfica del sistema y desde los viajes de la población. Los resultados obtenidos pretenden ser la base de lineamientos teóricos acordes a la evolución del tejido metropolitano de Mendoza y que, asociados con el comportamiento espacial de los grupos de población, contribuyan a orientar su dinámica. O objetivo deste artigo é mostrar a importância da dimensão socioambiental nas tendências de crescimentourbano e a relativa incidência da infraestrutura e dos serviços de transporte como ativadores dessa dinâmica. O trabalho introduz a dimensão subjetiva na análise funcional urbana, utilizando a mobilidade urbana como marco espacial e social do estudo. Os grupos que atuam na expansão são identificados sobre a base da evolução física e demográfica do sistema e a partir das viagens da população. Os resultados obtidos têm a intenção de fornecer a base de lineamentos teóricos acordes à evolução do tecido metropolitano de Mendoza, os que, relacionados ao comportamento espacial dos grupos de população, possam contribuir com a orientação da dinâmica resultante.
