description The present article is based on the analysis of the work On Violence (2005) written by Hannah Arendt. Published in 1969 -at the height of the emancipatory movements of the decade-, it exposes her perspective on the phenomenon of violence in relation to the political world. Our working hypothesis consists in sustaining the existence of a conceptual relationship between political violence, technology and the idea of Progress as set forth in the aforementioned work. Specifically, we propose that the link generated between violence and technology is based on the nineteenth-century notion of Progress (understood as future material development, cumulative and eminently positive). We warn that these mechanisms erode political action itself, since, in an effort to reduce the unpredictability inherent to human action, they encourage the introduction of violence into the political structure. We also note how contemporary society, founded on these ideals, tends to naturalize (and even encourage) violence within the political and social sphere, leading to the formation of a series of ideological parameters that direct our actions and even our modes of thought. In terms of our methodology, we begin by defining our conceptual triad according to Arendt’s interpretation. We then proceed to identify the connections, overlaps and interdependences that support the relationship we propose. Finally, we present the conclusions we draw from the author's writing, together with our own contributions. The main effort consists in visualizing and presenting the underlying connections in Arendt's thought, hopefully contributing to a deeper understanding of his work and new perspectives for its interpretation.

The main effort consists in visualizing and presenting the underlying connections in Arendt's thought, hopefully contributing to a deeper understanding of his work and new perspectives for its interpretation.
