Among them, the reflection about the ontological differences between men and women is particularly important. To the author, the sex people are born with put limits in the develop of physical, rational and moral capabilities. In this sense, not every human has the same potentialities nor goes for the same things. This paper aims to share an approach to the thought about women and their position in some of the most relevant parts of Gracian’s work. En la obra de Baltasar Gracián, filósofo y literato español del siglo XVII, se pueden encontrar diversos planteos antropológico-filosóficos. Entre ellos, la reflexión acerca de la diferencia ontológica entre varones y mujeres cuenta con un papel fundamental. Para el autor, el sexo con el que se nace condiciona las posibilidades de desarrollo tanto físicas como racionales y morales. En este sentido, no todo ser humano cuenta con las mismas potencialidades ni tiende a las mismas cosas. Teniendo esto en cuenta, este trabajo pretende brindar una aproximación acerca de cómo es que se entiende a la mujer y el lugar que ocupa en algunas de las secciones más notables de la producción graciana.
