Therefore, this study explores the use of Geographic Information Systems [GIS] as a didactic resource in the course Special Didactics and Internship of the Geography Teacher Training Program at Fa-Hum, UNNE. The objective is to equip students with skills that enable them to integrate and convey knowledge incorporating geotechnologies. As a practical case, the study analyzed the Human Development Index [HDI], including the representation and interpretation of geospatial data. Didactic resources were developed using georeferenced data, and an analysis of Argentine provinces was conducted for the period 1996–2021. The methodology combined quantitative techniques using [QGIS] 3.26.3 (2016) with qualitative approaches for data interpretation, highlighting the importance of new didactic strategies in Geography. The findings revealed more unfavorable conditions in the northern region of the country (1996–2006), with improvements observed during the 2016–2021 period. La enseñanza de las Ciencias Sociales requiere que los/as estudiantes dominen los procesos de transformación territorial y social. Es por ello que este trabajo aborda el uso de los Sistemas de Información Geográfica [SIG] como recurso didáctico en la asignatura Didáctica Especial y Pasantía del Profesorado en Geografía (Fa-Hum, UNNE) en busca de que los/as estudiantes adquieran habilidades que les permitan incorporar y transmitir saberes que integren geotecnologías. Como caso práctico se llevó a cabo el análisis del Índice de Desarrollo Humano [IDH] y la representación e interpretación de dicha información geoespacial; se elaboraron recursos didácticos con datos georreferenciados y se analizaron las provincias argentinas entre 1996 y 2021. La metodología combinó técnicas cuantitativas con [QGIS] 3.26.3 (2016) y cualitativas para la interpretación de datos evidenciando la importancia de nuevas estrategias didácticas en Geografía, observándose condiciones más desfavorables en el Norte del país (1996-2006) y mejoras en el período 2016-2021.
