In this way, the female subject imagines herself in an act of linguistic creation, transgressing the conventional boundaries of gender identities to break into the cultural imaginary with new inclusive representations of the ugly, the abnormal, the macabre, the disturbing or the terrifying. This article looks into three stories as alternative examples of the literary construction of the body. It also offers a specific territory for analyzing (in)embodied female fears through social and cultural learning processes. La propuesta creadora de Mariana Enriquez introduce nuevas figuraciones de lo femenino que van más allá de la dualidad del gótico clásico y su representación de las mujeres entre la monstruosidad y el desvalimiento. La ruptura del cuerpo –como una frontera material y primaria de la individualidad– es una de las marcas de la escritura femenina postmoderna. En este contexto, el sujeto femenino se imagina a sí mismo en un acto de creación lingüística, trasgrediendo los límites convencionales de las identidades de género para irrumpir en el imaginario cultural con nuevas representaciones inclusivas de lo feo, lo anormal, lo macabro, lo inquietante o lo terrorífico. En este artículo, se examinan tres cuentos de la autora: “Carne”, “Nada de carne sobre nosotras” y “La Virgen de la Tosquera”, como ejemplos alternativos de construcción literaria del cuerpo, en tanto que territorio específico de los miedos femeninos (in)corporados a través de los procesos de aprendizaje social y cultural.
