Seval, Martín Industry urban expansion Santa Fe metropolitan region Rioplatense mega-region Industria expansión urbana región metropolitana de Santa Fe megarregión Rioplatense Industrial areas and parks have acquired relevance in the Santa Fe metropolitan environment in the last two decades, warning of new trends between industrial location and urban expansion that combine concentration and dispersion. In order to analyze both trends, theoretical-methodological tools are recovered from the vernacular debate that places the case in the north of the Rioplatense mega-region. This context allows to retrace the way in which the transportation infrastructure that articulates this mega-region impacts temporally and spatially on the emergence of these new urban objects and on the spatial forms in which they are inserted. Furthermore, it contributes to the study a multi-scalar perspective that gives relevance to the metropolitan institutional dimension, by warning about the actions of actors at multiple scales and the institutional devices that they make up, enabling a broad regional dimension that breaks with the physical criterion as the only explanatory criterion of metropolization processes. Las áreas y parques industriales han adquirido relevancia en el entorno metropolitano santafesino en los últimos dos decenios, advirtiendo sobre nuevas tendencias entre localización industrial y expansión urbana que combinan concentración y dispersión. Para poder analizar estas tendencias hacia la concentración y la dispersión se recuperan herramientas teórico-metodológicas del debate vernáculo que ubica al caso en el extremo norte de la megarregión Rioplatense. Este contexto territorial permite desandar la forma en que la infraestructura de transporte que articula a esta megarregión impacta temporal y espacialmente en la emergencia de las áreas y parques industriales como nuevos objetos urbanos y en las formas espaciales en las que se insertan. Además, aporta al estudio una perspectiva multiescalar que le otorga relevancia a la dimensión institucional metropolitana, al advertir sobre las acciones de actores de múltiples escalas y de los dispositivos institucionales que conforman, habilitando una dimensión de análisis regional amplia que rompe con el criterio físico como único criterio explicativo de los procesos de metropolización.
