Sumario:“Crystal” is the euphemism for methamphetamine. This drug represents one of the main public health problems in Mexico and Latin America, due to its biopsychic effects, its high addictive dependence and its affordability. This article analyzes the livedexperiences of women deprived of their liberty in the Nayarit state prison with a history of drug addiction. Through interviewsand open dialogue (during 2022), the history of drug consumption was investigated within the framework of other factors ofpre-penitentiary social exclusion, at the “La Esperanza” Women’s Social Reintegration Center in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico.
