description The present communication arises based on a joint study carried out on the Platonic work, particularly the Simposio and Phaedrus dialogues, in which an attempt is made to rescue certain ideas that are intended to be novel from the incorporation of notions of analysis such as those of " alterity” (the figure of the Other) and “shame”, thus thinking of the Platonic areté based on said conceptualizations and showing how it is possible to be achieved or not based on what Plato exposed in both texts. In this way, we try to contribute with contributions that enrich the work of analysis in what we can call ancient philosophy since we consider that this discipline contains a great relevance and presence for the history of philosophy in general and for current academic philosophy in particular.
