| Sumario: | This current article it will refer about the situation status of the prisons in the province of Corrientes during the 1870 decade, taking as reference official reports, which include stadistics and descriptions, and show an approximation of the knowledge during that time about this issue. The impossibility of build a penitentiary led to other ways of applying the penalty, that were varied both in their application and in the way they were implemented. For a further deepening it is also considered the political framework which the Province was going through at that time and how the sectoral disputes impacted on the prison issue |
