The purpose is to analyze its editorial line, the profile of its publications and the type of works it admits, as well as the status of the journal based on the indexing achieved so far, considering the recent period of the last ten years. This article allows us to understand its status, as a periodical scientific publication, the type of journal, its scope and future projection. The approach projects different views from the Information Sciences, through qualitative methods of evaluation of the processes of scientific diffusion. The results show a promising situation, due to the diversity of works and authors and its constant hierarchy between journals of the discipline and of Social and Human Sciences, as well as the overcoming of the inbred publication circuits that prevailed until 2018. Este artículo aborda la evolución de la revista Geográfica Digital, editada por el Instituto de Geografía de la Universidad Nacional del Nordeste, Argentina. El propósito es analizar su línea editorial, el perfil de sus publicaciones y tipo de trabajos que admite, así como el estatus de la revista a partir de las indexaciones alcanzadas hasta el momento, considerando el período reciente de los últimos diez años.Este artículo permite comprender su estado de situación, como publicación científica periódica, la tipología de revista, sus alcances y proyección futura.El abordaje proyecta distintas miradas desde las Ciencias de la Información, mediante métodos cualitativos de evaluación de los procesos de difusión científica. Los resultados muestran una situación promisoria, por la diversidad de trabajos y autores, y su constante jerarquización entre las revistas de la disciplina y de Ciencias Sociales y Humanas, aunque su principal desafío consiste en superar los circuitos endogámicos de publicación.
