In Halliday's terms, an analysis of discourse not based on grammar is not an analysis, but a mere comment on texts. This project centers around the social theories of discourse and the SFL as a grammatical basis for the description and analysis of the different corpora that will be worked with in the research trajectories that constitute it
Since the last decade of the twentieth century, the constitutive dimension of language in the man-world relationship and the acknowledgment of the symbolically mediated nature of consciousness have been strengthened in the humanities and the social sciences. This strengthening has allowed the reformulation of classical issues regarding the relations between social structure and interaction, and between reproduction and social change from different theoretical perspectives. From the field of language studies in particular, Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL), founded by M. A. K. Halliday at thebeginning of the nineteen sixties, has been of crucial importance for the study of these matters.The conceptual framework of SFL considers human language to be organized on the basis of three metafunctions. These metafunctions constitutean abstraction that explains the universal nature of language, and they are the following ones: ideational metafunction, interpersonal metafunction and textual metafunction.
