Line 1 will investigate the grammaticalization and lexicalization processes that operate in the languages under study, i.e. mainly regional varieties of Spanish, Italian and Latin. These processes are generally associated with grammatical phenomena such as quantification, definition, temporality and modality, among others. Line 2 will investigate the problems in language development in children of school age from Santa Fe. Both lines will work with the regional varieties of Spanish, and line 1 will also contrast the data with other related languages, such as Italian and Latin. The theoretical framework of reference is the Generative Grammar and, within this research framework, the microparametric approach will be encouraged, which argues that linguistic varieties can be explained in terms of minimum differences (Poletto, 2000), especially observable in lexical features and the functional lexicon (Kayne, 2004; Cinque 1
