FA8. These genes were flanked by the insertion sequence ISAzsp1, belonging to the IS3 family, and a region highly homologous to insertion sequences of the IS630 family. These are the first site-specific recombination elements to be described in association with genes involved in the metabolism of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs).
