A guanine nucleotide-sensitive, glugagon-stimulated adenylyl cyclase in candida albicans: Effect of glucagon on cell morphology

GTP, GTP- γ -S and Gpp(NH)p produced a significant activation of Mg 2+ -dependent adenylyl cyclase in permeabilized cells of Candida albicans. This activation was inhibited by GDP- β -S. Maximal stimulation (4-6 fold) was obtained when Mg 2+ and GTP- γ -S were added during permeabilization. The guan...

Addition of the hormone to yeast cells incubated under conditions conducive to produce germ tubes blocked hyphal development and promoted multibudded cell morphology. © 1990. Fil:Paveto, C.
