Sumario:The sedimentological and petrographical characteristics of siliciclastic and carbonate facies within the Yacoraite Formation at Corralito river are described. The rocks contain ostracods, molluscs and algae, as well as coated grains and polygenetic intraclasts. Mixed terrigenous elements are important in most of the carbonate rocks, where limestones are transitional to siltstones and sandstones. Statistical analyses using Markov chains enabled the detection of a high energy basal cycle and a low energy upper cycle. Facies relationships indicate a lacustrine environment. The diagenetic processes which have affected the rocks include solution, micritization, fresh-water cementation and dolomitization. -from English summary
