Ellipsometry was also useful to evaluate the influence of the oxide layer formed on glassy carbon electrodes, either spontaneously or after electrochemical pretreatments, on the DNA adsorption and further electrooxidation process. SEM and AFM images of the electrode surface covered by a thick layer of DNA reveal a nonuniform distribution, leaving channels and islands of the biological material. © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
