This description will be associated with the content itself, to allow fast and efficient searching for material that is of interest to the user. This effort is being conducted within the activities of the new standard MPEG-7. It is in this context that Face Detection and Recognition acquire a renovated interest and there is a need to develop new tools that may help the user that browse a data base or a video sequence to find specific persons.
