Sin infraestructuras la acción colectiva carecería de medios materiales para su ejecución y sin acción colectiva la convivencia civilizada no pasaría de una utopía individualista irrealizable. Partiendo de un breve recorrido histórico buscamos mostrar que la acción estatal es inseparable del desarrollo infraestructural, tanto en sus orígenes como en la actualidad. El estudio de las continuidades y transformaciones experimentadas por los Estados en cuanto infraestructuras de la acción colectiva puede ayudar a comprender los desafíos del desarrollo económico y social contemporáneos. In this article, we reflect on States as necessary infrastructures for the exercise of collective action. Without infrastructure, collective action would lack the material means for its execution, and without collective action, civilized coexistence would remain an unrealizable individualistic utopia. Drawing from a brief historical overview, we aim to demonstrate that state action is inseparable from infrastructural development, both in its origins and in the present day.
