El sistema mundial se encuentra en plena crisis de hegemo- nía estadounidense, deviniendo hacia el “caos sistémico”, en un proceso de aceleración de las tendencias estructurales de la actual transición histórica-espacial mundial. Entre estas tendencias se destaca la agudización de contradicciones entre polos de poder dominan- tes —el Norte Global— frente a los poderes emergentes, y su consecuencia es el desarrollo de una guerra mundial híbrida. Ucrania es un territorio que se encuentra en el pliegue de una tensión fundamental, entre la expansión hacia el Este de la OTAN iniciada en 1997 por las fuerzas globalistas de los Estados Unidos, el Reino Unido y el Norte Global y, por otro lado, Rusia como potencia re-emergente y polo de poder mundial, cuyo “colchón estratégico” es China y el escenario actual de multipolaridad relativa. La propuesta del presente artículo es abordar esta contradicción tomando algunos elementos históricos y analizar las fracturas que atraviesan a Ucrania desde su constitución; el avance de la OTAN desde 1997-1999 y sus claves geoestratégicas; la capacidad de Rusia para frenar este avance y volver a convertirse en un polo de poder mundial; la centralidad de la disputa por la primacía en Eurasia y la dinámica de la escalada del conflicto. Ukraine is a key geopolitical territory in the global power struggle. The world system is in the midst of a crisis of US hegemony, tur ning towards “systemic chaos”, in a process of acceleration of the structural trends of the current global historical-spatial transition. Among these trends, the sharpening of con- tradictions between dominant poles of power —the Global North— vis-a-vis the emerging powers stands out, and its consequences is the development of a hybrid world war. Ukraine is a territory at the fold of a fundamental tension, between NATO’s eastward expansion initiated in 1997 by the globalist forces of the United States, the United Kingdom and the Global North and, on the other hand, Russia as a power re-emerging and pole of world power, whose strategic cushion is China and the current scenario of relative multipolarity.
