En particular, explora las posibles relaciones entre el modelado de instituciones educativas destinadas a la formación de élites políticas y la fabricación del Estado-nación. En Argentina, la creación de la educación primaria obligatoria y gratuita fue precedida por el desarrollo de la educación secundaria mediante la creación del colegio nacional. Estas escuelas se formaron durante la unificación política del territorio nacional después de las guerras internas posteriores a la independencia. Nótese el nombre dado a estas instituciones: escuelas nacionales. ¿Cómo aparecieron la nación y el estado en la organización de las escuelas nacionales? El artículo explora esta cuestión analizando los planes de estudio escolares y los informes de los rectores durante la configuración del colegio nacional entre 1863 y 1890. This article focuses on the origins of secondary education in Argentina. In particular, it explores the possible relations between the modelling of educational institutions intended for the formation of political elites and the fabrication of thenation-state. In Argentina, the creation of free, compulsory elementary educationwas preceded by the development of secondary education through the setting up ofthe colegio nacional. These schools were formed during the political unification ofthe national territory after domestic post-independence wars. Note the name given to these institutions: national schools. How did the nation and the state appear in the organization of national schools?
