This article aims to study ideas and contributions coming from the vocational training course “Social Work III” at the University of Luján. The construction of social problems in a specific territory is analyzed as being the result of intervention processes based on the strategic planning perspective. Since the “Social Work III” course is based on that particular view of planning it is proposed that all actions developed by students have to consider the territory as a complex scenario. This view of space reconstructs the structural and contextual component that goes through power relations established among societal actors. These individuals or groups have their own perspective, interests and priorities which differ between one and another. Professional practice requires analyzing those differences in order to provide a viable intervention alternative. The process of vocational training involves the participation of students, teachers and also society actors from the territory. These actors interact with college looking forward developing certain actions which will tend to modify the negative situation they are going through. This view of scenarios allows future professionals to approach problematic situations with viable and complex interventions. For all these reasons, in this article we analyze the contribution made by strategic planning in the processes of vocational training carried out in complex scenarios.
