Sumario:Ipomoea nil (L.) Roth species, commonly known as "isipó", “campanilla azul” o “bejuco” among other names, is important among various crops in the world in general and especially in the northeast region of Argentina in particular. Its bioecology, life form and anthropic actions in the agroecosystem turn it into an unmanageable weed. Focusing on seed germination behavior would be of great help at the time of considering efficient crop management. The present work aims at showing the germination percentages of this species considering the amount of time occurred from its release to its sowing, the mechanical scarification (with sandpaper), the immersion in water for 48 hs and a combined treatment of mechanical scarification with immersion in water for 48 hs. The results obtained would help to understand the high presence of this species in cultivated areas.
