Vulnerable populations—particularly women, children and adolescents, older adults, and indigenous peoples—face risks aggravated by disinformation, including the reproduction of discriminatory stereotypes, fewer tools to identify fake news, false or misleading information, the minimization of structural problems, and the violation of fundamental rights. Taking a legal approach that considers the use of artificial intelligence for disinformation purposes in light of Argentine law, international human rights treaties, and reports prepared by international organizations, this study sought to demonstrate the greater vulnerability of these groups to disinformation, identify the rights susceptible to violation, and propose alternatives to counteract its harmful effects.
