In order to investigate the conformation of the Río de la Plata landscapes and to identify changes and continuities in relation to the patterns of inhabiting the space and the circulation of objects, people and knowledge through social interaction, we articulate different sources of information, such as archaeological and ethnohistorical. We have found similarities with respect to the pre-Hispanic occupations of the study area, which stand out in relation to the forms of connection with other entities in the space and in daily practices. Changes were also observed in the manufacture of ceramics, the use and selection of resources, some of which were introduced, and greater residential mobility, among others. These objects, people, plants and animals, and new practices, implied new configurations of the landscape, where a certain historical continuity is evident, and new questions are raised about the social relations of hispanic-indigenous contact that began to take place in the Rio de la Plata area.
