Sumario:Sustainable urban development is crucial in the planning of Latin American cities. Urban infrastructure is essential for shaping urban centralities and ensuring ordered city development. This article explores the relationship between the urban infrastructure of Ambato’s Southern Bus Station in Ecuador and its influence on the formation of an urban centrality in the southern part of the city. The bus station’s architectural project is critically analyzed, evaluating the use of the equipment, regulatory changes, and its connection to other bus stations in the city. Additionally, the impact of the bus station’s urban infrastructure on the urban development of Ambato’s Huachi Grande parish is investigated, considering changes in land use, population density, and infrastructure development. The study’s findings offer guidelines for more effective architectural planning, promoting the functional and ordered development of southern Ambato.
