Sumario:We have divided this paper into two parts. In the first part, we deal with the epiphytic algae on Ricciocarpus natans. We have studied the epiphytes growing on submerged and emerged portions of R. natans, and both algal florae are compared. We also compared this flora with other epiphytic algal florae, and we present some conclusions on the epiphytic algae and their significance in freshwater communities. We also studied: the number of individuals per submerged portion; the number of individuals per emerged portion; and the total number of individuals per R. natans plant. In the second part, we have studied some morphological aspects of the three dominant algae: Achnanthes hungarica, Cocconeis placentula var. placentula, and Epibolium dermatcoia.
