This research explores the comments or opinions transmitted by boys and girls who communicate their experiences around GBV, which can symbolic and physical within the educational context and domestic, economic, etc. within the family context. The exploration identified three categories: GBV, critical pedagogy, and pedagogical strategy which, in tandem with subcategories and theories attached to the analysis of violence from the gender perspective and the critical pedagogy by some of Freire’s premises, allow the development of a pedagogical strategy that arises from a socio-critical model and that, through a study qualitative approach, contributes to understand and prevent the GBV phenomenon in educational institutions. Teniendo en cuenta que los índices de Violencias Basadas en Género, tanto en hombres como en mujeres, han afectado notablemente la relación social entre géneros, incluyendo el ámbito educativo, este estudio propone una estrategia pedagógica fundamentada en los principios de la pedagogía crítica para contribuir a la prevención de las VBG en las instituciones educativas, con el propósito de la ejecución de otras prácticas desde la mirada de la pedagogía crítica y no desde la escuela tradicional que contribuye a la reproducción de acciones discriminatorias. El estudio toma en cuenta los comentarios u opiniones de los niños y niñas que manifiestan sus experiencias en torno a las VBG, tanto en el contexto educativo a través de la violencia simbólica y física, como en el contexto familiar, anclada a la violencia intrafamiliar, económica, etcétera. Para ello se tiene en cuenta tres categorías: VBG, pedagogía crítica y estrategia pedagógica, que junto al despliegue de subcategorías y teorías arraigadas al análisis de la violencia desde la perspectiva de género y a la pedagogía crítica tomando algunos de los postulados de Freire, permiten el desarrollo de una estrategia pedagógica que parte de un modelo socio crítico y que, a través del enfoque cualitativo del estudio, aporte a entender el fenómeno de las VBG en las instituciones educativas y su prevención.
