| Sumario: | COVID-19 marked a before and after in urban mobility. Yet, the effects have been stronger in intermediate cities where the public transport system was not sufficiently consolidated to answer back to a public health crisis; such is the case in the city of Santa Fe, which was subsequently coupled with a high inflation context.
Different analyses were done using the transport smart card SUBE database, which showed a strong reduction in the number of validations with a standard fare during the post-pandemic, endangering the sustainability of the service.
The present study contributes to the general understanding of this problem, providing detailed information and new lines of investigation aimed at assisting the local government with recommendations regarding the implementation of measures leading to finding a solution to the current crisis in public transport. |
