Sumario:Integrated Water Resources Management involves the coordination of multiple interests around water use, conservation, and sustainability, in order to promote public policies that balance economic, social, and environmental development. In this context, the aim of this paper is to explain the process of developing a Best Water Practices Guideline applicable to the design of support documents for decision-making regarding water resources at the local level. The guideline identifies priority issues for the Tornquist district—flooding, erosion, quality, and scarcity—and proposes intervention strategies classified as: Nature-Based Solutions, Planning Interventions, Technological Interventions and Environmental Education. These strategies were selected based on cost and the spatial and temporal scale of implementation, prioritizing short- and medium-term strategies. Additionally, contextualized examples of best practices that can be applied in other municipalities with similar issues are included.
