The aim was, on one hand, to shed light on scientific work within contexts of political and economic complexity during the administrations of Mauricio Macri (2015–2019) and Javier Milei (from 2023 onward). On the other hand, it sought to reflect on identity constructions linked to cultural and heritage policies with visitors to the stand. Using an ethnographic and participatory approach, responses to the question "What represents us?" were analyzed through the selection of images of identity references, both legitimized by the state and those that are invisible or contested by different groups. The results highlight two key aspects: first, the need for the dissemination of social sciences to be public, systematic, and participatory in order to strengthen the interaction and training of social scientists. Second, the experience revealed a gap between initial expectations and unexpected findings related to the topics studied, uncovering new dimensions of analysis and reflection. Este trabajo reflexiona sobre la actividad "¿Qué nos representa?" realizada por investigadoras del Instituto de Ciencias Antropológicas (ICA) de la Universidad de Buenos Aires en el parque Rivadavia, durante los festivales Ciencia Paliza II (2019) y Elijo Crecer. Ciencia por Argentina (2024). El objetivo fue, por un lado, visibilizar el quehacer científico en contextos de complejidad política y económica en las gestiones de Mauricio Macri (2015-2019) y Javier Milei (desde 2023). Por otro lado, la actividad buscó reflexionar sobre las construcciones identitarias vinculadas a políticas culturales y patrimoniales con las personas visitantes del stand. A partir de un enfoque etnográfico y participativo, se analizaron las respuestas a la pregunta ¿Qué nos representa? mediante la selección de imágenes de referentes identitarios, tanto legitimados por el Estado como invisibilizados o impugnados por distintos colectivos. Los resultados destacan dos aspectos clave: primero, la necesidad de que la difusión de las ciencias sociales sea pública, sistemática y participativa, para fortalecer la interacción y la formación de cientistas sociales. Segundo, la experiencia evidenció una brecha entre las expectativas iniciales y los hallazgos inesperados surgidos en torno a los temas investigados, revelando nuevas dimensiones de análisis y reflexión.
