| Sumario: | This study examines government policies aimed at fostering economic integration within informal settlements in Argentina, focusing on initiatives implemented by three agencies in Mar del Plata and Buenos Aires city between 2016 and 2023. Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research involved documentary analysis, observations and semi-structured interviews with government officials, technical experts, and community representatives. The findings challenge the prevailing consensus on socio-urban integration, revealing nuanced variations in economic policies and demonstrating significant disparities among the studied agencies. |
