| Sumario: | Although the occurrence of pre-electoral coalitions reduces voting options and determines the voter’s decision-making, the results of elections can produce other electoral indicators. Given that the literature on the effects of pre-electoral coalitions is still incipient, this article explores its relationship with electoral participation and alternation. Through the analysis of electoral indicators, divergent results are reached around the stated premises, where coalitions records do not present significance regarding electoral participation, while alternation does seem to be related with the coalitionist conditions that express competitiveness. |
