The objective of this article is to analyze the ways of living of social actors who are agents of an urbanization process of a peri-urban space: horticultural producers and inhabitants of a popular settlement. While the productive fields are the historically predominant spaces in a green belt of regional relevance, the popular neighborhoods are one of the residential uses that has been disputing most strongly the productive use. We will show the dynamics of living in “fields” and from “popular neighborhoods”, as twoparticular spaces, which configure specific ways of living, but which in turn are crossed by actors who put them in dialogue and tension, and reconfigure them in a dwelling between both. They all share very limited access to infrastructure and services, and at the same time they outline specific ways of inhabiting and producing urbanization in the peri-urban area. We work from a qualitative methodology, with an ethnographic approach that seeks to capture the urban experience of the actors. |

El objetivo del presente artículo es analizar los modos de habitar de actores sociales que son agentes de un proceso de urbanización de un espacio periurbano: productorxs hortícolas y habitantes de un asentamiento popular. Mientras que las quintas productivas son los espacios históricamente predominantes en un cordón verde de relevancia regional, los barrios populares son uno de los usos residenciales que viene disputando con más fuerza el uso productivo. Mostraremos las dinámicas de habitar en “quintas” productivas y desde “barrios” populares, como dos espacios particulares que configuran modos de habitar específicos, pero que a su vez son atravesados por actores que los ponen en diálogo y tensión, y los reconfiguran en un habitar entre ambos. Todes comparten un acceso muy limitado a infraestructuras y servicios, y al mismo tiempo delinean modos específicos de habitar y producir urbanización en el periurbano. Se trabaja desde una metodología cualitativa, con un enfoque etnográfico que busca captar la experiencia urbana de los actores. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar os modos de habitarde atores sociais agentes de um processo de urbanização de um espaço periurbano: produtores hortícolas e moradores de um assentamento popular. Enquanto as fazendas produtivas são os espaços historicamentepredominantes em um cinturão verde de relevância regional, os bairros populares são um dos usos residenciais que mais fortemente têm disputado o uso produtivo. Mostraremos as dinâmicas de viver nas “fazendas” produtivas e desde os “bairros populares”, como dois espaços particulares, que configuram modos de vida específicos, mas que por sua vez são atravessados por atores que os colocam em diálogo e tensão, e os reconfiguram em um habitar entre ambos. Partilham um acesso muito limitado a infraestruturas e serviços, e ao mesmo tempo delineiam formas específicas de habitar e produzir urbanização na área periurbana.
