Sumario:This work addresses tensions and contradictions generatedby UVA mortgage loans, which introduced a turning point within the Argentine Bicentennial Credit Program for Single and Family Housing by introducing installments indexed to inflation. This credit modality has gained relevance in different cities of the country for several reasons. Firstly, due to its high demand and the volume of amounts granted during 2017 and 2018. Secondly, due to the notoriety that conflicts generated acquired in the media and the emergence of some self-convened groups of debtors who argue the program’s unsustainability. These arguments are subjected to empirical data, and the quota-salary ratio, late payment, and the effect of government palliativemeasures are addressed, among other aspects.
